NAGLY Salem

Prism is a new, youth-led drama club at NAGLY.  The club will strive to give queer youth the opportunity to explore their own voices, bodies, emotions, and identities through theater arts.   By practicing character development, body movement, and text analysis, youth can develop a deeper sense of empathy, expand their sense of self, and improve body gender euphoria.

New Case Manager

Meet Reilly (They/Them), the Case Manager for the Younity Access Center in Gloucester!  They've been working with and for youth and young adults since 2017 when they began volunteering for Campus Health Services at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN.  When they aren't working or studying for their Master's Degree, you're likely to find them reading (typically sci-fi, fantasy, or manga), crocheting, gaming on their PC/Switch, or watching anime on the couch with their cat, Derp.

For case management services, you can drop in on Mondays, from 5:00-6:00 PM,  or schedule an appointment with Reilly by clicking below.

Get to Know Us

As the holiday season approaches, we are reminded of the incredible power of giving, compassion, and togetherness. This Giving Tuesday, we're not just asking for your support; we're inviting you to be a part of the vibrant tapestry of personal stories, resilience, and love that defines our mission.

Over the coming weeks, we've decided to turn the spotlight on our incredible staff, sharing their personal stories and experiences within our organization. Each week, we'll feature a dedicated team member who plays a crucial role in bringing our mission to life. Join us every week as we celebrate the inspiring individuals behind the scenes who make our work possible. Together, we are writing a story of impact, empowerment, and unity.

This week, we're excited to shine a spotlight on a remarkable individual who is making a significant impact in the lives of LGBTQIA+ youth at NAGLY.   We are thrilled to introduce you to Tony, the heartbeat of NAGLY and our Director of Programming—one of the two indispensable individuals forming the backbone of our dedicated paid staff. As we near the culmination of this series, we reflect on the incredible stories and contributions that shape the fabric of NAGLY. Tony's narrative serves as a powerful reminder of the transformative impact that each of you makes in empowering LGBTQIA+ youth.

Tony's impact is profound and tangible. With over 100 youth gracing the space each week, he engages individually with them, addressing challenges and providing unwavering support. NAGLY, under Tony's guidance, is more than a safe haven; it's a place where vulnerability is embraced, and discomforts are met with understanding. Despite the daily challenges our youth face—from the broader political climate to local community dynamics—NAGLY stands as a beacon of resilience. In Massachusetts, we've made strides, but Tony reminds us that many parts of the country are still lacking in gender-affirming care

As we approach Giving Tuesday, consider becoming a part of this transformative mission. Your support ensures a future where acceptance, guidance, and empowerment flourish. Join us on Giving Tuesday as we continue to make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

 Krav Maga & Self-Defense Classes

First and third Wednesdays of each month, 6:00-7:00 PM

NAGLY Salem

Krav Maga is a system of self-defense developed by the Israeli military, and first taught to the public by Mr. Imi Lichtenfeld, the system founder. Krav Maga is not a combat sport but rather a simple and effective fighting system designed for self-protection, and is intended to be practical and instinctive regardless of age, gender identity, or physical size.

The program offered at NAGLY will teach students to avoid situations with preventative and de-escalation methods, and to respond to common attack scenarios while developing their self-defense capacity.

Our instructor, Mike Leonard, began practicing Krav Maga in 1994.  Mike holds the rank of sixth degree black belt (M1) amd is a second generation student to the system founder.
